The worlds of glitz, glam, and pop-rock fused immortally on Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, born of the formidable partnership of Elton John and Bernie Taupin. This 1973 double album may well have been the peak of their collaboration. Ranging from perennial favorites like "Candle in the Wind," "Benny and the Jets," and the title track to more ambitious compositions like "Funeral for a Friend (Love Lies Bleeding)" and everything in between, Goodbye is unmatched in its depth and scope. This entry in the Classic Albums series of DVDs documents the often tumultuous writing and recording sessions for that masterpiece through vintage clips of the musicians in the studio and new interviews with Elton, Bernie, producer Gus Dudgeon, and the band members. We may never know how the John-Taupin team achieved their magic, but this release offers a both a peek at the process and a few reasons why the album endures today.

A pretty young songbird found murdered on Hollywood Boulevard. The crusty old Private Eye who was in love with her. A smooth-talking seductress who hires him to solve the crime. A bulldog detective with a nose for the truth and a leash held by city hall. A long list of suspects with a long list of alibis. A sprinkling of dirty secrets. A zest of clever lies. These are the ingredients of an homage to the PI films of Hollywood's Golden Age.

Yellow Jacket: The Beach Crazy Cyclist is a short stop motion animated show for children made in France. It features the quick and whimsical adventures of a bicycle racer weaing a yellow jacket and his nemesis a black jacket wearing cyclist, amongst other toy characters. The cyclists are always model people but the spectators are toys and models like dolls and crabs. Black Jacket and Yellow Jacket are always at the centre of the plot, with Black Jacket using some devious trick to try to win and Yellow Jacket generally not trying to stop him, letting fate or karma prevent Black Jacket from winning. The show is always set at a beach and at a minuscule level. Sometimes a human will, in stop motion form, enter the show. After Yellow Jacket wins the first half of the closing credits plays then a small continuation gag plays and the rest of the credits roll. The sand is real and the bikes leave trails though much of it is not filmed at an actual beach but in a studio.

Yellowthread Street is a 1990 ITV police drama about detectives of the Royal Hong Kong Police based on the novels by William Leonard Marshall. In the Yellowthread Street series, the detectives of the Yellowthread Street police station in fictitious Hong Bay, Hong Kong -- DCI Harry Feiffer, a European born and raised in Hong Kong; Senior Inspector Christopher O'Yee, half-Chinese, half-Caucasian American, and all neurotic; and the ever-bickering team of Inspectors Auden and Spencer -- attempt to find the rational basis for inexplicable and seemingly bizarre crimes. For example, in 1988's Out of Nowhere, DCI Feiffer must figure out why in the pre-dawn hours, four people in a plate-glass-filled van with Chinese opera blaring out the tape deck were driving on the wrong side of a deserted motorway, miles from the nearest on-ramp, before dying in a violent collision with an oncoming lorry. And why, moments before the collision, did one of the passengers shoot the van driver? Thirteen fifty minute episodes were made. Cast members included: Ray Lonnen, Bruce Payne, Robert Taylor, Tzi Ma, Mark McGann and Catherine Neilson. Tetchie Agbayani appeared in one episode.
